Deep Dive: JATOC Dashboard

Who: The Dashboard was developed for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Operations Field Incident Response (FIR) Teams. The FIR teams are broken up by region and are located in three service areas---Central, Eastern, & Western.
What: The FIR Teams utilize our dashboard to view, manage, and report service interruptions related to natural disasters and other events that may impact flight operations and National Airspace System (NAS) services.
Where: Our dashboard is currently operational in all three service areas. In addition to managing service interruptions, FIR Teams use our dashboard to support Joint Crisis Action Teams (J-CATs) at the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center.
Value: Our dashboard helps the FAA to effectively respond and recover from incidents in the NAS by streamlining the collection, analysis, and visualization of mission critical information.
Deep Dive: TAMR Dashboard
Real-time data helping make real-time decisions.
Who: The dashboard was developed for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Automation Modernization Replacement (TAMR) Program.
What: This dashboard displays real-time schedule information regarding the installation of terminal automation equipment across the United States and Alaska.
Value: When an installation is delayed, waterfall impacts can be assessed immediately and the Program Manager is able to make a decision to minimize the impacts and ensure the program continues to deploy successfully. It also provides automated reports of site status, configurations, operational software baseline, point of contacts, and a variety of other useful information to aid the decision making process.

The Centers of Excellence (COE) are “communities of practice” within Cobec that work towards a common goal – Be the Best at What We Do.
Each center is working on initiatives geared towards:
developing and sharing best practices,
providing tools, data and infrastructure to enhance service delivery, and
provide training, knowledge sharing, mentoring and opportunities to lead.
